Submission Guide Article Submission Guidelines

Writing for can be simple and painless provided you have interesting content and follow the submission guidelines. These guidelines are effective as of May 6, 2013.

Overview is a website for readers interested in do it yourself (DIY) laboratory information management systems (LIMS). Article submission topics must be relevant to this readership.


Submissions must be made in electronic format by e-mail to The Formatting section of this document will have further details on the expected format. Article submissions must include the language 'please accept this submission for inclusion in' or equivalent. reserves the right to refuse any submission for any reason whatsoever. Submission does not guarantee publication or use. In cases where the submitter has opted to give ownership of the submission (see the License section for details) ownership will revert back to the submitter if fails to use the article in 6 months time from the date of submission.

License offers two licensing options for submissions:

Submissions themselves must be in text included in the body of the e-mail (no attachments unless they are graphics -- see Illustrations section for details). If you would not like your by-line to appear include 'NO BYLINE' somewhere with your submission.


Submissions must be 5,000 words or less.


Must be in GIF, JPG. No flash movies, no bitmaps. You should have rights to the graphic sufficient for republication on (see License section for details).


Do not submit previously published or articles submitted elsewhere.
